PoweAI is an artificial intelligence system. This page explains what it does, how it reaches its outputs, where people stay in control, and its limits. We wrote it so a business owner can read it in five minutes.

What PoweAI is

An AI Business Brain that learns your business and helps you run it, with you in charge.

PoweAI combines large language models from third-party providers (currently Anthropic (Claude) — confirm) with a private memory of your business. Every answer draws on three layers of intelligence:

LayerWhat it contributes
GlobalGeneral business reasoning, writing and research from the underlying model.
VerticalKnowledge of your industry, such as change orders and deposits in construction or retainers and intake in a law practice.
CompanyYour business specifically: how you quote, follow up and invoice, who your customers and vendors are, and the corrections you give it.

How it works

  1. Observe. With your permission, it reads signals from your connected tools.
  2. Understand. It turns messages and records into structured business events, such as "new lead," "quote approved" or "invoice overdue."
  3. Decide. It reasons about what should happen next using your goals, history and rules.
  4. Act. It prepares briefs, drafts and, if you allow it, actions.
  5. Learn. Your approvals, edits and corrections update your Business Brain so it improves for your business only.

You stay in control

Autonomy is never assumed. You dial it up one step at a time.

StageWhat PoweAI doesWhat you do
1 · ObserveWatches and learns. Takes no actions.Nothing, unless you want to.
2 · RecommendSuggests what to do and explains why.Decide.
3 · DraftPrepares emails, quotes and reminders in your voice.Review and send.
4 · Act with approvalGets ready to act and asks first.Approve with one reply.

Every action is logged with the reason behind it. You can pause PoweAI, narrow its permissions or move back a stage at any time.

Our data and training commitments

  • We do not use your data to train generalized or non-personalized AI models.
  • Our AI model providers are contractually prohibited from training on your data.
  • Data received from Google APIs is used only for the features you see, under Google's Limited Use requirements.
  • Each business's Business Brain is kept separate from every other business.

Known limitations

PoweAI is smart, not perfect. Check anything important.

  • It can misread context, for example treating a vendor as a client until you correct it.
  • It can state something incorrect with confidence, especially when information is missing or ambiguous.
  • It only knows what your connected tools contain, and those may be incomplete or out of date.
  • Figures and stories on our website are illustrative demos, not guaranteed results.

What PoweAI is not for

PoweAI is designed to help run day-to-day business operations. It is not designed, and may not be used, to make or substantially decide consequential decisions about individuals, such as decisions about employment, credit or lending, housing, insurance, education, health care or legal services, without meaningful human review. This reflects emerging rules on automated decision-making, including Colorado's SB 26-189 and California's CCPA regulations on automated decision-making technology, both of which take effect on January 1, 2027. PoweAI does not provide professional advice and is not an emergency service.

Talking to AI

PoweAI always identifies itself as an AI assistant in its messages to you, and it will never claim to be human when asked. When PoweAI sends messages to your customers or contacts on your behalf, you choose how those messages are identified. Several states require telling people when they are interacting with AI, including Maine (for chatbots used in trade), California (for bots used to influence a sale) and Utah (when a consumer asks), and more state laws take effect in 2027. You are responsible for making these disclosures where they apply, and we can help you configure them.

Corrections and reporting issues

The fastest way to improve PoweAI is to correct it. Reply with what is wrong, for example "That's not a client, it's a vendor," and your Business Brain updates. To report an output that seems harmful, biased or unsafe, contact ai@poweai.com. We review every report.

How this page will change

AI laws and our product are both changing quickly. We update this page when either changes in a way that matters to you, and note the date at the top.
